Virgin Galactic Sells Outer Space Tour for USD 450 thousand

Virgin Galactic gives the wealthy the opportunity to travel to space.on an experience that will never be forgotten.

Interested tourists must spend USD 450 thousand. would you like to take a space tour? Recently, space exploration company Virgin Galactic opened a new chapter of ticket sales for suborbital space tourism.

The company has not provided a specific date for its first space tourism flight. However, Virgin Galactic intends to attract the first 1,000 subscribers by the end of 2022.

Citing Digital Trends, Wednesday (16/2/2022), previously 600 people had lined up to join this space tour.

They have paid USD 250,000 (equivalent to Rp. 3.5 billion) to be able to travel to outer space. These billionaires bought tickets in the first phase of ticket sales, which closed in 2014.

Previously, Virgin Galactic founder and boss Richard Branson made a suborbital spacewalk aboard the VSS Unity spacecraft last July.

Rocket Ride Experience
The experience includes releasing a capsule from a transport plane at 50,000 feet to a short rocket journey to the Karman line, a point located 62 miles above Earth.

At that time, Branson was also able to see the Earth’s view for a few minutes in anti-gravity space and hurtled back to base.

For your information, Virgin Galactic’s first commercial mission will take place at Spaceport America in New Mexico. Passengers will participate in spaceflight preparation activities for several days before starting their 90-minute journey.

“At Virgin Galactic, we believe that space is transformational. We plan to have our first 1,000 customers at the start of commercial services earlier this year,” said Virgin Galactic CEO Michael Colglazier.

Virgin Galactic is not the only space exploration company in the space tourism industry. Virgin is competing with Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin.

Not long ago, Blue Origin completed a series of crewed test flights. The company also aims to launch a commercial space tourism service in the near future.

Bezos and Branson both say the services of their two companies will open up space for more individuals to create amazing things.
