ukrainian president, Volodymyr ZelenskyI made an appeal this Tuesday, ahead of the G-20 summit, to help restore peace in Ukraine and put an end to the “Russian war».
“I am convinced that it is now necessary and possible to stop the destructive war in Russia. We will not allow the Russian army to rest, rebuild its forces and then start a new series of terrorism and global destabilization,” said the Ukrainian president, according to a statement from the Ukrainian presidency.
For this reason, he noted, each day of delay means “new deaths of Ukrainians, new threats to the world and an insane increase in casualties” due to continued “Russian aggression, losses for every person in the world”.
In this sense, he has challenged Russia to prove that it “really” wants to end the war, something that, according to the Ukrainian head of state, must be proven with facts for the international community to support.
“Apparently, no one can trust Russian words, and there will be no more Minsk Protocols that Russia violates as soon as they are signed,” he said during his speech at the G-20 summit.
Likewise, Zelensky has listed a series of “concrete measures” that could be implemented to help Ukraine and other countries deal with potential conflicts in the future.
Among these measures is an agreement to ensure nuclear and radiological safety, all after “blackmailing the world with a nuclear catastrophe,” which Russia implemented, according to Zelensky.
The second proposal includes countries’ ability to ensure a good food situation in the world, while the third refers to energy security, which has diminished after nearly ten months of war in Ukraine.
“The fourth proposal is the release of all prisoners and deportees (…). The fifth is the implementation of the UN Charter and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and world order.
Radiation and nuclear safety
The release of all prisoners and deportees
Implementation of the Charter of the United Nations and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the world order
The withdrawal of Russian forces and the cessation of hostilities
Combating environmental annihilation
confirming the end of the war
In order to reach peace, Zelensky referred to the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory and the cessation of hostilities, as well as the justice process under which war criminals are tried.
Among other measures, the President of Ukraine included protection of the environment in wars, prevention of conflict escalation, as well as confirmation of the end of the war.
Zelensky offers a 10-step peace plan and tells the G20: “If Russia says it wants to end this war, let them prove it with actions. It is clear that it is impossible to trust Russia’s words, and there will be no Minsk-3, which Russia will violate immediately after signing ». pic.twitter.com/FNXgtUgjJo

“I outlined the directions through which each of you can choose for yourself how to become a partner in making peace,” Zelensky stressed, stressing that his proposals could save thousands of lives and would mean “restoring the strength of international law.”
“Peace is a universal value. What is important for every person on earth (…). He emphasized that if Russia opposes our peace formula, it will see that it only wants war.”
