The influential and controversial Romanian public prosecutor’s office charged Tuesday Andrew Tate And his brother Tristan, along with two others, are suspected of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal organization to exploit women.

The Tate brothers and the two women are under house arrest pending a criminal investigation into abuses committed against the seven women, charges he has denied.

The four were held in police custody from 29 December to 31 March before being placed under house arrest by a Bucharest court.

The trial will not begin immediately.

Under Romanian law, the case goes to the first instance courtroom, where the judge has 60 days to examine the case files for legality.

Prosecutors said the Tate brothers recruited their victims by seducing them and falsely claiming they wanted a relationship or marriage.
