Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling is ready to leave for Chelsea on one condition. The England international wants to get assurances that he will be part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans next season.
Sterling is actually one of the key players in the Manchester City squad over the last few years. The 27-year-old footballer started in 32 Premier League games with The Citizens last season.
Unfortunately, Sterling’s role began to diminish towards the end of the season. He is more often a bench warmer. Reporting from Metro, Sterling was also reserved in the two legs of the Champions League semifinal against Real Madrid. He was also not a starting line-up in Pep Guardiola’s squad when playing the Premier League final match against Aston Villa.

A move from the Etihad is an option for Sterling. The English Premier League giant, Chelsea, is reportedly ready to pay 60 million pounds, equivalent to approximately Rp. 1.08 trillion to get the former Liverpool player’s signature.
For information, Sterling is still under contract at the Etihad until June 2023. Pep Guardiola’s club may not want to lose one of their valuable assets for free.
The new owner of Chelsea is reportedly ready to provide Thomas Tuchel with funds worth 200 million pounds. The Blues are also predicted to make significant changes, after failing to match City and Liverpool in the final standings of the Premier League last season.
Tuchel actually has many options in the Blues attack line. However, uncertainty over the futures of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic, is likely to give Sterling an opportunity to feature in the first team.
Sterling first arrived at the Etihad in 2015. He was signed from Liverpool in a deal worth 65 million euros. However, the transfermarket site says the current value of Sterling is in the range of 85 million euros.
A number of clubs have reportedly started to look and intend to bring in Sterling. The Spanish giant, Real Madrid, is no exception. In addition, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also reported to have joined the queue for his signature.
As reported by AS, rumors of Sterling’s move from City have indeed intensified into the summer transfer market this year. Manchester City is even rumored to have offered his name to Los Blancos.
The desire to leave Manchester City is actually nothing new for Sterling. The 27-year-old has previously been openly open to offers to play outside the Premier League. Real Madrid is considered as one of the ideal ports for Sterling.
Sterling is not the only player linked with a move away from the Etihad. Gabriel Jesus has also caught the attention of Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The Brazilian is Mikel Arteta’s priority target in this summer’s transfer market. He is targeted to strengthen the Arsenal attack line, because Arsenal only has Eddie Nketiah who is a senior striker.
On the other hand, Los Blancos also need an alternative after Kylian Mbappe’s contract was rejected. President Florentino Perez and General Manager Jose Angel Sanchez have reportedly identified Jesus as one of their transfer options.
Carlo Ancelotti also pushed hard enough for the club to get Jesus’ signature. Ancelotti is known to have developed an interest in the player since he moved to the Etihad in 2017.
Meanwhile, Jesus is in danger of losing his place in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The reason is that The Citizens have just hired Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. The arrival of the two has the potential to make the former Palmeiras player eliminated from the club’s power caste.
