Premier League Manager of the Year Nominations 2022

The Premier League has released the five candidates for the best manager in the Premier League for the 2021/22 season. The surprise occurred when Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United was included. Besides Thomas Frank, the captain of the surprising promotion team, Brentford.

In addition to the nominations for the best manager, the Premier League also announced the nominations for the best player and best young player for the 2021/22 season. Fans can directly vote on the official website no later than May 16. Who is the nominee for the best manager in the Premier League for the 2021/22 season? 1. Thomas Frank (Brentford)

The Danish coach has enjoyed a superb debut season in the Premier League. He led promoted Brentford to 13th place and earned praise for his side’s entertaining style of play. With these games, this season Brentford has beaten Chelsea, West Ham United and Arsenal.

Statistically, from 36 matches played by Brentford, Thomas Frank managed to bring the Bees to 12 wins, 7 draws and 17 losses by entering 44 goals and conceding 52 goals throughout the season. This lists Brentford as a promoted team that managed to surprise in the 2021/22 season. A slick note for a team that just got promoted!

2. Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)

The Spaniard is keeping hope of winning the award for the fourth time in the last five seasons. He has ambitions to win back-to-back Premier League titles for Manchester City in the 2021/22 season. With two games remaining, his team have already surpassed their points total from last season and are just four points away from sealing the title.

Pep Guardiola also managed to bring The Citizens to win 28 times, drew 5 times, and only lost 3 times. Manchester City is fairly fertile, during the 36 matches they played, they managed to score 94 goals and only conceded 22 goals this season. An impressive record!

3. Eddie Howe (Newcastle United)
Signed in the middle of the season after Newcastle United kicked Rafael Benitez from the coaching chair, Eddie Howe managed to make a positive contribution to the Magpies. Newcastle United became the first club in Premier League history to stay after not winning any of their first 14 games.

Eddie Howe’s side had just five points when he took over in November 2020. But since he took charge of Newcastle United, the team has moved up to 14th in the table with 43 points, including a nine-game unbeaten run.

Eddie Howe recorded 25 games with Newcastle United resulting in 11 wins, 5 draws and 9 defeats. Not too bad of a record for a coach in charge of a team in transition to glory!

4. Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)
The manager who holds the title as the longest-serving manager in the Premier League at this time, managed to re-nominated as the best manager of the English League. Klopp has also managed to become a tough rival for Manchester City in the 2021/22 Premier League season, in addition to bringing the Reds to the Champions League Final.

Jurgen Klopp with his kick and rush game as well as his Gegenpressing managed to bring Liverpool to win in 26 matches, drawn 8 times, and only lost 2 times (the least amount in the Premier League this season). The Reds have also scored 85 goals and conceded only 24, this number making the team the second best team with the number of goals scored in the 2021/22 season.

5. Patrick Vieira (Crystal Palace)
Former Arsenal and Manchester City player Patrick Vieira has been appointed Crystal Palace coach for the 2021/22 season. His first season as manager in the Premier League, Vieira brought the team to 11th place in the Premier League standings. He has also made the fans enjoy the various matches played by The Eagles.

Vieira also gives a new touch to the philosophy of the game at Selhurst Park. In fact, with this philosophy, the Eagles managed to beat Arsenal with a landslide score, 3-0. Throughout the 2021/22 season, Vieira managed to bring Crystal Palace to win 10 matches, draw 14 times and lost 11 times in 35 matches played. A pretty good record for a manager who is coaching a Premier League team for the first time!
