More to shine at MWC2023: From human to mobile that rolls out | technology

This version of the Mobile World Congress brought back the desire to surprise and launch new technological products in its wings, after two epidemic versions in which novelties appeared in their absence. Lenovo, the owner of Motorola, brought a mobile phone and a computer to its stand to be resized; Xiaomi to his human, the dog companion he brought to Barcelona last year; Honor introduced the first foldable phone available in the international market; And Oppo showed an improved version of the augmented reality glasses.
Xiaomi CyberOne, 1.77 meters long
The Chinese company brought to its mobile booth the humanoid robot that it presented last August. He is 177 centimeters tall and weighs 52 kilograms. It reminds us of Botsla Bot that Elon Musk spoke about in the summer of 2021, only that in this case he has a mascot: CyberDog, the robot in the shape of a dog that he brought to the show in the last edition and that was one of the main surprises of the conference. Although the idea of having a humanoid robot can be very attractive (or very terrifying, depending on preferences), the truth is that there is still time to get into homes: its price is very high (almost 100,000 euros) It cannot be produced in large quantities.
Xiaomi also took advantage of the event to announce and unveil its wireless augmented reality glasses, with which it is trying to take another step towards interoperability and interoperability between the devices we use.
Devices that roll to increase volume
Lenovo, which owns Motorola, has brought to its platform a rollable phone and laptop that, while not yet on sale and constitutes more of a proof of concept, shows the path the company wants to take, with devices that increase its size. of your screen to get more space. When folded, the screen folds flat when extended like a curtain.

Honor’s first foldable mobile phone outside the Chinese market
During an event on the first day of MWC, the company introduced the new Honor Magic 5 series and its first foldable model for sale outside of China, the Honor Magic VS. The Magic 5 Pro has a wheel with three 50MP cameras that each say is inspired by Gaudí’s engineering curves, a 5,100mAh battery, and technology that reduces melatonin concentration by 20% and helps get you 30 minutes of sleep. One of its most striking features is its 100x telephoto zoom. It has a price of 1199 euros and can be purchased from today.
Magic VS, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, manages to reduce the space left between the two parts when folded, as explained by George Zhao, president of the company. The battery it includes is the largest that can be found in devices of this type, with a capacity of 5,000 mAh and withstanding about 400,000 shutdowns, twice that of other similar devices. In this case, the price is 1,599 euros.
In addition to these two models, the company has surprised with a Europe-only launch: the Magic 5 Lite, a more affordable version (369 euros) with a 5100mAh battery, which they say can last up to three days, and that with three 64MP cameras. .
Oppo leaves behind the monocular to give way to traditional glasses
The Chinese manufacturer has already come with the homework done to the conference and has taken advantage of the exhibition to present, among other devices it has recently presented, the Find N2 Flip, the first foldable phone that it launches on the international market, just like Honor. In this case, the design is like the Samsung Galaxy Flip, folding down instead of to the side, smaller than the Fold and its external screen larger than the Galaxy’s, plus it’s placed vertically instead of horizontally.
In addition to the mobile phone, Oppo unveiled its Air Glass 2, which is the second version of the glasses it introduced last year in the form of a single lens. In this case, it is about glasses of augmented reality that simulate conventional glasses. They make it possible to correct vision, act as a remote control, a music player, allow you to make calls, translate other languages in real time and even convert speech into text for the hearing impaired.
Nokia rugged phones reinvented with self-healing technology
Revealed for the first time today, the new Nokia C22, C32 and G22 phones, manufactured by HDM Global, the owner of the Nokia patent, reinforce the brand’s position as a producer of the most durable phones, and a continuation of the fame it has gained with its mobile devices. The nineties with the new models promise long-lasting batteries, more storage space and, above all, maximum resistance, to fight against the rapid obsolescence that usually characterizes the rest of smartphones. The company explains that, in addition, it has used recycled and sustainable materials for its manufacture.
G22 is the first device that can self-repair at home. Thus, Nokias joins the trend of other manufacturers, such as Apple or Samsung, in providing manuals, tools and parts so that customers can perform simple repairs, such as changing the battery or screen, in a few minutes and without having to contact technical service.
