Liverpool tactician Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that his team, Fabinho, will miss the FA Cup final match against Chelsea which is scheduled to take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday (14/5/2022) evening WIB.
According to Klopp, Fabinho suffered a muscle injury, so he had to be sidelined for a while. The Brazilian midfielder was the victim of Liverpool’s victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League match on Wednesday (11/5/2022).
“There’s a good chance that he (Fabinho) will be back (on the pitch) later – not for this weekend, but later. There is the potential that he will be ready for the Champions League final,” Klopp said of Fabinho’s condition on Liverpool’s official website, as reported by Metro.

Fabinho transformed into one of the mainstay midfielders in the Liverpool squad after being signed from AS Monaco in 2018 in a deal worth £39 million.
The 28-year-old has successfully led the Reds into a tough competition for the Premier League title, as well as stepping into the Champions League final.
Fabinho with Liverpool also still has a chance to win the quadruple winners, after coming out as Carabao Cup champions in February. Unfortunately, the Brazil international had to miss an important match in the FA Cup due to the injury he suffered.
For information, Liverpool secured a ticket to the top of the FA Cup after beating Manchester City 3-2 in the semifinal match which took place on Saturday (16/4/2022). Meanwhile, Chelsea clinched a place in the final after thrashing Crystal Palace 2-0 the day after.
This is not the first time Liverpool have met Chelsea in the final of the prestigious 2021/2022 season. Previously, Jurgen Klopp’s troops also had time to face Thomas Tuchel’s foster children in the Carabao Cup peak party on Monday (28/2/2022) early morning WIB.
The English League giant duo were able to compensate for each other’s resistance from the start of the match. The 0-0 draw lasted until the end of the second half and extra time.
Liverpool and Chelsea inevitably have to be involved in a penalty shootout. Fabinho and his friends just managed to lift the Carabao Cup trophy, after winning the penalty shootout against Chelsea with the final score 11–10.
The Carabao Cup final will be back in the FA Cup. Metro reports say this is the first time the same teams have met in a Carabao Cup and FA Cup final in a season since Arsenal faced Sheffield Wednesday in 1993.
The Liverpool vs Chelsea match in the FA Cup promises a tense match. The reason is, apart from both having a good reputation in the Premier League, the Blues are also predicted to appear without one of their mainstay players, Mateo Kovacic, as happened to Liverpool.
The 28-year-old midfielder suffered an injury due to a tackle from Leeds United’s Daniel James in the Premier League match which was held on Thursday (12/5/2022).
An update on Kovacic’s condition was conveyed by Thomas Tuchel, after his team beat Leeds 3–0 in that match.
“We have to wait for the examination, but it is very unlikely (Kovacic can play in the FA Cup final), and that is really bad news for us,” Tuchel said, as reported by Metro.
“If he misses that (FA Cup final), I’m very disappointed because he’s a definite starter. He is a key figure for us in midfield. He is a great person, hungry, determined and eager to play this match.”
