Christmas miracle as Brit saved from horrific fate after holiday cliff fall

A Thai rescue crew helped to pull a British tourist, who had fallen from the top of a steep waterfall on Samui Island, to safety after the man was seen slipping from a dangerous cascade
A British man was rescued after slipping from a dangerous waterfall.
The man was part of a group of eight international tourists who were holidaying on the island of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand.
The group had climbed to the top of Na Muang Waterfall despite warnings not to when the man fell off the cliff.
The backpackers said they did not see the warning signs that alerted tourists of the dangers of climbing all the way to the top of the waterfall on the island’s southwest side.
According to current weather conditions, torrential rain had made the reasonably treacherous climb even more dangerous, leaving the cliff wet and slippery.
After reaching the top of the waterfall, the British man lost his footing and reportedly fell from the top.
Luckily, the climber did not fall to the bottom of the cliff. However, he sustained some injuries and could not move, encouraging his teammates to call for help.

About 30 rescuers and local officials were sent to help, but the conditions were so dangerous they could not support the mission directly.
However, one of the rescue team reportedly said that the only way to get the injured man to safety was to tie him to a rope and slowly lower him down to the base of the cliff.
During a four-hour rescue call, the British man was lowered from where he lay injured to the base of the cliff, where rescue workers were waiting.
He was then transferred to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Following the incident, local officials said there were signs warning tourists not to trek to the top of the waterfall, but the group claimed they had not seen it.
It comes a few days after Chloe Fields and Christian Zelada came very close to death after a car crash saw them drop a whopping 300ft down the steep Monkey Canyon.
The couple tumbled a whopping 300ft down a canyon after veering off the side in their car but somehow managed to survive the horror plunge despite a “one in a million” chance of living to tell the tale.
