Amarnath Yatra Suspended Due To Unhealthy Climate: Officers

Amarnath Yatra has been suspended because of dangerous climate, officers mentioned, days after the yearly pilgrimage commenced after an opening of 2 years.

The pilgrims would possibly not be allowed to transport in opposition to the cave shrine housing the naturally shaped ice-Shivling from the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam, they mentioned.

The yatra to the holy cave had commenced from the 2 base camps – Nunwan camp in Pahalgam, Anantnag district and Baltal camp in Ganderbal district. 

The primary batch of pilgrims had reached the Pahalgam base camp final Thursday. 

The pilgrimage remained suspended for 2 years because of coronavirus ahead of its graduation on June 30. Greater than 72,000 pilgrims have introduced their prayers on the shrine since then.

The yatra is about to finish on August 11 at the instance of Raksha Bandhan.
