The company made it clear on Friday in a statement that Airbus will hire 1,000 new employees in Spain in 2023. The company frames these contracts “to meet the various challenges in aviation in the coming years.”

This number is in addition to the 1,000 contracts already concluded in Spain last year that put the total Airbus workforce in Spain at more than 13,000 employees.

“These new contracts will enhance Airbus’ capabilities in light of the expected increase in commercial aircraft production in the coming years and in key projects such as the future European fighter jets. FCASor digitization plans or corporate cyber strategy.”

Of the 1,000 new jobs, most will be in activities in the defense and aerospace division, and the remainder in the commercial aircraft and helicopter business.

Last January, Airbus announced its intention to recruit more than 13,000 people worldwide by 2023 to support industrial acceleration and its ambitious decarbonization roadmap, preparing the future of aviation.
