Assassination of Spanish CNI agents
Near the town of Latifiya, 30 kilometers from Baghdad, an attack on two vehicles in which eight CNI agents were traveling left seven dead and one slightly wounded. Previously, on October 9, 2003, Air Force Staff Sergeant José Antonio Bernal, CNI attache at the Spanish Embassy in Baghdad, was assassinated at the door of his house, in the Mansour district of Baghdad.
